I'm a 42 yr. old suffering with severe anorexia for 25 yrs. I've been in and out of many many treatment centers and hospitals, I've gone into respiratory arrest, had feeding tubes, and a PEG tube surgically placed in my stomach for over a year (nothing by mouth). I am currently at my worst (76 lbs. @ 5'4")and have many medical problems due to my ED.In 2010 I had emergency surgery to remove dead twisted small intestine (80% of it). I wasn't supposed to live through the surgery. I now have a hospital bed in my living room, a feeding tube in my stomach, and a port-a-cath implanted in my chest for easy IV access since I'm in the hospital so often.
